Tampa Bay is home to some of the best beaches in the country, and along with beautiful beaches come great beach bars, and Tampa Bay is home to hundreds of them!
Whether you're considering moving to Tampa Bay, have recently relocated here, or just want to come for a visit, our guide to the top beach bars in Tampa Bay will help you enjoy your time in our beautiful slice of paradise.
Here are some of Tampa Bay's best beach bars.
Salt Shack On The Bay
Location: 5415 W Tyson Ave, Tampa, FL 33611
Locals Tip: Salt Shack is very popular, especially for dinner and on the weekend. They don't accept reservations so you'll want to arrive early.
Salt Shack brings to the table a rare combination of a perfect location, beach vibes, and excellent food. Although not technically a beach bar, it is right on Tampa Bay and offers stunning water views.
Whiskey Joe's Bar & Grill
Location: 7720 W Courtney Campbell Causeway, Tampa, FL 33607
Locals Tip: Parking is limited and it fills up fast, especially on the weekend. Use a ride-sharing service and save yourself the hassle, or, if you have a boat or waverunner, you can drive right up to the sand.
The food here isn't great, but they make up for it with stunning views of Tampa Bay. The outside tiki bar is massive and offers shade on hot summer days. The party doesn't end once the sun has set, because the beach here has a bunch of fire pits so you can party the night away.
Palm Pavilion Beachside Grill & Bar
Location: 10 Bay Esplanade, Clearwater, FL 33767
Locals Tip: A great place to catch the sunset while listening to live music.
A staple on Clearwater Beach since 1926, this open-air beachfront bar and restaurant has that laid-back vibe you've been seeking. You can also catch live music here nearly every night of the week.
Cabanas Coastal Grill
Location: 655 S Gulfview Blvd, Clearwater, FL 33767
Locals Tip: Well-known for their seafood, especially the crab cakes and grouper.
What's better than an island-themed beach bar that serves up delicious tropical drinks? One that also serves incredible food. If you find yourself on Clearwater Beach then Cabanas should be on the top of your list if you are looking for a laid-back beach bar with a great food menu.
Mangos Restaurant and Tiki Bar
Location: 17120 Gulf Blvd, North Redington Beach, FL 33708
Locals Tip: Check out the ritual lighting of the tiki torches, which occurs around sunset each night.
Located at the Doubletree Hotel, Mangos is truly a hidden gem. A tiki bar with a thatch roof and just steps from the white sands of North Redington Beach, what isn't to love? Bartenders here serve up a variety of tasty tropical drinks, and they have live music most days.
Island Girl Tiki Bar
Location: 9980 Gulf Blvd, Treasure Island, FL 33706
Locals Tip: Just about everyone raves about the Blue Paradise.
Located at the Island Inn Beach Resort, this tiki bar has a cult following, largely due to its owner, Vikki. She epitomizes what a tropical lifestyle should look and feel like with her well-crafted cocktails that scream beach vibes. Vikki makes this tiki bar one of my personal favorite places in Tampa Bay.
Ricky T's Bar & Grille
Location: 10601 Gulf Blvd, Treasure Island, FL 33706
Locals Tip: With three separate bars there is something for everyone. If you're looking for a beach vibe then head outside to the tiki bar.
While Ricky T's isn't directly on the beach I was compelled to include it because it truly is a local favorite, and in all fairness the beach is right across the street. Beloved by just about every person on Treasure Island, Ricky T's has it all. They have live music every night of the week, as well as large TV's and the NFL Sunday Ticket if you're looking for a place to watch the game.
Ikki Woo Woo's Tiki Hut
Location: 10700 Gulf Blvd, Treasure Island, FL 33706
Locals Tip: Try one of their tiki drinks or frozen concoctions.
Located at the Thunderbird Beach Resort, this small tiki hut doesn't look like much at first, and they don't serve food, but the locals love it here. What folks on Treasure Island love about this tiki bar is the long-time bartenders who serve up incredible drinks and the live music.
Jimmy B's Beach Bar
Location: 6200 Gulf Blvd, St Pete Beach, FL 33706
Locals Tip: Stick around for sunset and you'll be treated to a free sunset shooter while watching the sun sink below the horizon.
Often voted as a top beach bar on St. Pete Beach, Jimmy B's is a favorite hangout among locals and tourists alike. The food here is better than you'd expect of a laid-back beach restaurant, and they have live music 7-nights a week.
Coconut Charlie's Beach Bar & Grill
Location: 6100 Gulf Blvd, St Pete Beach, FL 33706
Locals Tip: You can find daily specials here every day of the week.
Located at the Hilton Garden Inn St. Pete Beach, Coconut Charlie's is a great place to unwind and soak up some Tampa sunshine. Here you can watch the football game, enjoy live music nightly, or have a boozy beachside brunch (Sat & Sun).
Bongos Beach Bar and Grille
Location: 5250 Gulf Blvd, St Pete Beach, FL 33706
Locals Tip: The frozen daiquiris here are a favorite.
Located at the Bellwether Beach Resort, Bongo's is best known for being able to dine right on the sand! Have a great meal and relax in the shade under an umbrella and feel your feet in the soft sand. If sand isn't your thing, they have two bars on their wooden deck. Bongo's also has live music most days.
Sand Dollar Bill's
Location: 4350 Gulf Blvd, St Pete Beach, FL 33706
Locals Tip: Their cheeseburger is largely considered the best in Tampa Bay.
Located at the Bon-Aire Resort, Sand Dollar Bill's is one of those beach bars that you never want to leave. The bartenders here can serve up whatever tropical concoction you are craving, but their rum runner is regarded as one of the best on the beach.
Paradise Grille
Location: 900 Gulf Way, Pass-a-Grille Beach, FL 33706
Locals Tip: Experience the legendary "Sunset Ringing of the Bell" which occurs nightly.
Sitting just off the sand, Paradise Grille is a casual spot with all the beach vibes. With live music most days and no-frills (but good) beach food, it's no wonder why everyone seems to love it here.
Hurricane Seafood Restaurant
Location: 809 Gulf Way, St Pete Beach, FL 33706
Locals Tip: Head to the rooftop for spectacular views of Pass-A-Grille Beach.
Hurricane's is one of the best places to catch the sunset in Tampa Bay. Grab a drink at the rooftop bar and watch the sun sink into the Gulf of Mexico. The rooftop here offers 360-degree views of Pass-A-Grille Beach and is a favorite sunset spot for locals.
